Augusto, PORADA

The table’s design is rooted in the decomposition of one of Roman culture’s most significant architectural elements—the arch—alongside concrete and brick. Each leg of the table is a vertically bisected arch, recomposed by opposing the two halves. This concept inspires the name, Augusto, referencing the four Archi di Augusto in Italy (Rimini, Susa, Aosta, and Rome), erected in honour of Emperor Octavian Augustus—perhaps some of the most renowned Roman arches.

A statement of balance and adaptability, Augusto is a sculptural table with a modular solid Canaletta wood base. Its central column, composed of interlocking elements, allows for variations in size, making it highly adaptable to different spaces. The tabletop, available in crystal, wood, or marble, contrasts with the dynamic structure of the base, creating a refined interplay of materials. Augusto could also be presented in a grand version, featuring two bases and an expansive surface, reinforcing its architectural presence.
